Danny Clemence

A&A Operations Manager Danny Clemence joined the Marines in 1983 and served in the U.S. and Okinawa until 1987.

On Oct. 23, 1983, two truck bombs, detonated by suicide bombers, struck buildings at the U.S. Marines Corps barracks in Beirut, killing 299 service personnel (241 American, 58 French), and six civilians.

It was the deadliest single-day attack against U.S. Marines since the battle over Iwo Jima in 1945.

I wanted to serve my country as Beirut was heating up. It is an honor to be a veteran of this great country we live in. The Corps made me who I am today.”
